Young Grad

Another super-quick post to share a graduation card I made (kindergarten) this past week.  I had a few orders over the week and actually made 8 cards (but had no time to photograph them – boo, hiss) and only managed to get a shot of this one.

I kept the colours light as a kindergarten grad is a less sombre event than a university graduation.  I found some happy paper from a 6X6 pad to use for the background (chosen AFTER I coloured the image which I rarely do).

Must dash – hospital visits to make and still have to decide what’s for supper tonight and lunches tomorrow.  Blech!

I made extra effort yesterday to get some things done so I’d have a change to do a little paper crafting (medicinal purposes!)

At first, I couldn’t find the energy to focus on making a card so I started with a super-quick tag (which I’ll show you on another day when I have the tag attached to the intended packaging) but that got me in the mood to make a card so I decided to make my Dad a Father’s Day card today in case I don’t get a chance in a couple of weeks.

I surfed around a bit looking for some inspiration and found a cute card HERE so I decided to CASE it.  I liked the colours in those cards so used blues and greens for mine too but I changed out the image, the embossing and the type of banner.  My inspiration cards even motivated me to make multiples of my card!

Fore Dads

I actually made “fore” of these.  😉

The cardstock is SU – not good on the colours these days but I think Lucky Limeade and Marina Mist (haven’t bought much SU cardstock lately – I’m trying to use what I have).  The stamps are Paper Smooches – Kim’s images are so adorable.  I have to admit that I don’t necessarily like all her image styles (as one could say for just about any stamp line) but the ones that I do like, I beyond LOVE!   They’re so whimsical and her personal font is my all-time favourite of any font ever.

The embossing folder is a Darice one I picked up in the States last month.  I went to AC Moore for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by some of the prices.  I bought 2 folder (I think they were $3.99 each – the other one is a honeycomb pattern) and they are larger than the A2 size which is great.  I find the Cuttlebug embossing folders a bit too small which makes them fussier to use as well.  If I’d known how much I would like these folders I would have bought more!

On a different note,  I’m hoping the weather improves here (it’s been cold) so I can purchase my annuals for the garden and get the exterior of the house ship-shape for the summer season.

Enjoy your week!
