It’s been a busy weekend.  I was hoping to get EVERYTHING on my list done but that was pure fantasy.  I had 21 ornaments to make this weekend as well as some notebooks plus some prep work on some ornaments I need to make next weekend.

I did get 16 glass ornaments completed and 5 gingerbread ornaments mostly made (still need to personalize and package them) but I didn’t get anything else on my craft list completed (other weekend tasks included 3 loads of laundry, a trip to Costco, a visit to the new Target – we just got one here, plus we made lemon crumbles and muffins for our lunches this week so it was definitely productive)

I could probably have knocked off a few more craft projects if I didn’t decide to fiddle around with packaging for my glass ornaments…here’s what I came up with:

…and here’s the group (excuse the shot – my worktop is black):

I just need to get these all to their new homes so I can make some space to work on the next batch.

So, how was your weekend?

Santa and Snowman Tags

As promised – here’s the set of snowman and Santa tags I made – just finished the last one on Thursday night.

Again, set of 4 (I made 4 sets) and a variety of techniques on each.  They were really fun to make and I love the little embellishments like the rhinestones and the glittered wooden snowflake:

You can’t see it in the picture but on the second tag, the snowman is holding a teeny, tiny package that I cut out of the patterned paper.

Must dash!

I wish I had more time to keep my blog up to date – especially when I’ve been doing a fair amount of crafting (in between course assignments – remind me to stop taking courses next year!!)

I’m just quickly sharing a set of 4 tags (I made 4 sets total) that I made last week using deer and trees (and kraft cardstock) as the theme:

There’s a bit of everything going on with these.  I used my Cricut to make the deer (and added some baker’s twine and a jingle bell for the collar), paper piecing on the paper smooches tree (plus glitter but you cant’ see it), distressing and paint and sequins on the tree made from paper strips and embossing on the white deer and snowflake – the deer/snowflake tag was HEAVILY inspired by a tag on Limedoodle’s blog.  She rocks!

Back sometime soon with a set of Santa and snowman tags.

Autumn Wedding

Cards 1 Comment »

It’s been so hectic lately that I haven’t had time to blog any of my projects.  I haven’t even taken pictures of some of the things I made before they flew out the door!

In addition to so many assignments due for a few courses I’m taking, our poor dog had an episode this past weekend and we spent every second with him instead of working on any hobbies or errands etc.  He’s doing much better today but we’re not really sure what he has or what caused it – it was either a mini stroke or something called vestibular disease.  Scary, scary!  Poor little guy had zero balance and kept falling over on one side.  He’s walking really well now (and never missed a meal, the little pig!) but he lists to one side as if he just got off a boat and he’s extra clumsy.  The vet said we should just observe him and if it happens again we’ll get all the scary tests done to see if he has a tumour.

Enough about my household drama.  Last week I made a wedding card that turned out exactly as I pictured it.  I can count on one hand how often a card turned out true to my vision so I was quite tickled that it worked out.

The wedding is a Fall theme.  I could have gone cute but played with a few ideas and came up with this:

I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to position the leaves and embossed the word love. (using an ancient SU! stamp – one of my first SU! purchases)  I didn’t have any appropriately coloured embellishments so I used some copics to colour some flat backed pearls in Autumnal hues.

This is a larger 6.5X5 card on natural cardstock.  White would have been too cold.

Must dash.  Lots to do before bedtime and it’s almost 10 pm!
