As mentioned yesterday, here’s card number two for a Father’s Day commission.

I used some older Basic Grey papers – not sure why but the earthy patterns really appealed to me for this card.

The stamp is Hero Arts – I used glossy accents on the eyes (and patiently waited for them to dry as I laid it on pretty thick!) and added lots of wooden stars to the card for a little more interest.  If you haven’t jumped on the veneer bandwagon I highly recommend buying a package of stars or hearts – they go with almost everything and can be easily altered with a marker or ink.

Sentiment is computer generated as my client had a specific request for the front of the card.

Hopefully back tomorrow with a couple more card!

Busy Week

I’ve had such a busy week and I’m so far behind with posting the cards I’ve made.

Today’s card (and tomorrows) were commissioned by a co-worker for Father’s Day.  I used some fun papers I picked up during a trip to my LSS and a cute donkey stamp that I like to use for “little dude” cards.

I will admit that I was going to have the red patterned paper facing the other way but I cut it wrong.

There’s lots of tracing wheel and “Wink of Stella” glitter action on the card.  The donkey’s mane and tail as well as the stars are all glittered up.

I used stickers for “Poppy”.

Must dash.  Early (Saturday) appointment and it’s already 11 pm.

Pretty Princess

I’ve been pretty busy the last couple of weeks with getting my Dad’s house ready to sell.  It’s kind of strange to think that someone else will be living there (my parent’s had the house built when they got married so nobody else has ever lived there but our family).  I hope the people that buy it love it as much as my parents did.

I did get to spend some time in my craft room this morning and made a card using a Greeting Farm stamp and some patterned paper from the June Paperie card kit (my LSS) that I won last week.

The card kit came with two little stamp sets – one is a cute Jillybean Soup set that will make great notecards but I want to design (with the help of DH) a cut file for the frame in the set before I make any cards using it.  The other stamp set is a small floral set but I want to use it with embossing powder and maybe some watercolouring and my craft room is a bit messy for dragging out those supplies at the moment.

While I was at The Paperie, I picked up a jar of translucent embossing paste so I’m hoping to have some fun playing with that later this week.  I might make a few custom stencils with my Cameo to use with the paste.  So many things I want to do and so little (to be honest) energy to do them these days!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.  I can’t believe I have to go back to work tomorrow…
