Busy, Busy, Busy!

A busy few days at work and in the craft room.

My little sock project took off and this is what’s happening in my craft room tonight:

Yup, washed an entire load of JUST socks – then had to hang them to dry so they kind of took over the place.  Don’t even ask how long it took to fold them sideways so they could be prepped for alteration!

I managed to make and package just a handful of orders tonight after doing all the prep but I hope to make better progress tomorrow.

I’ve invested in a new order form for current items for sale and hope to have that done shortly.  It won’t have the limitations my current form does (I can only have 8 fields!) but it all has to be programmed and DH is helping with that while I try to get out from under this pile of wool socks!

Say It With Socks!

I am so unfocused with my crafting this season – all over the place!

Over the long weekend, I kept seeing comments on these “wine socks” that everyone wanted.  I finally clicked on a picture – thinking someone had the patience and skill to knit the wording into the sole of the sock.  When I realized it was heat transfer vinyl I thought “I can make these!”.

Bought a roll of burlap today so who knows what my next project will be.

Bears Everywhere!

Needed a little change of pace after working on my Pikachu ornaments yesterday and I always find it easiest to make a tag when I want to shift gears or I’m low on mojo.  The smaller design space is much less daunting than that blank 4.25″x5.5″ rectangle.  Besides, I had a growing pile of cardstock and paper scraps on my desk from the gift bags I’ve been making for my dog bandannas.

I used a new MFT set featuring some very cute birthday bears.  I didn’t purchase the matching dies as that would have brought the cost of the stamp set to $50 USD – just not economically feasible at all!

However, I do have a Pixscan mat for my Silhouette so I stamped up a few images and cut them out for my tags:

Believe it or not, I’ve switched gears again and am working on another Beagle Paws fundraiser – Happy Howlidays II.  It might seem early but I have a LOT to do in order to pull this off.  Must go play with some faux snow!

I’ve been wanting to try my hand at a Pokemon themed ornament and finally had some time to play with the design.

It took 3 attempts to get the vinyl to the scale and detail that I wanted but it turned out pretty cute in the end:

I’ve since made the nose a little smaller on the advice of a friend who has a clue about Pokemon (I don’t!)  I’m lucky I know this little dude is not actually called Pokemon.

It took me longer to make the packaging than it did to design the ornament (you can see the revised nose below):

Off to make a few dog bandannas!

Cushion Cover (Izzy)

Another cushion cover for a friend:

Apologies for the picture – I don’t currently have a lick of space in my craft room as the sewing machine, cutting mat, and ironing board have taken over a large amount of real estate!

I enjoy making these covers as the sewing is pretty basic – but I don’t enjoy the half hour or so it takes to iron on the HTV!  Oh to have a heat press (well, I’d probably be frightened to death of burning myself using it but imagine taking seconds to adhere vinyl to fabric)!

In other news, my Dad is visiting us for a couple of weeks – I think he’s having a good time.  At least he gets the tv to himself while I’m holed up in my craft room.
