Long live the 3X3 card. This quick little project is a slight adjustment on my 3X3 cards and box.
As mentioned in my previous post, I found the lid to be quite loose when I used the SCS tutorial to create the card box for my set of cards. I will be making a new lid but decided to use the same concept to create a smaller box for a little present I had for a coworker. The gift was a Chai tea disc and a Latte disc to use in her Tassimo coffee machine – you can’t buy the Chai Latte T-Discs locally at the moment and it’s her favourite Tassimo drink so I offered to bring her in the one I had left. I could have just given her the discs but it was a perfect excuse to make a paper craft and to use my Hero Arts coffee set.
I measured the discs stacked together and determined I needed a box that was 3X3 on the base and 2 inches high. Sadly, I’m a very visual person so I had to draw a square on paper and add the 2 inches on each side to determin that I needed a 7X7 square of cardstock to make the base of the box. I decided to make a lid that had a one inch lip so another quick sketch and the lid needed to be 5 1/8″ square. (add 1/8″ to the lid so it will be slightly larger than the base.) A few scores and cuts plus some strategic placement of scor-tape and the box was done.
I used close to cocoa cardstock on the top (she likes brown) and sage shadow on the base. I think the PP is Wild Raspberry (it’s something raspberry) and it’s definitely K&Co.
Gotta go…work starts in ONE minute. TGIF!
