Anna Wight (Whipper Snapper Designs) has TWO stamps sets releasing today – Her Favorite Things and His Favorite Things.
Today’s card is made using two stamps from Her Favorite Things (I’ll be back tomorrow with a “boy” card!). I used the stocking image and a portion of the sentiment “A little something just for you”.
I bet when you saw the picture of the stamp set you weren’t thinking “Christmas”. I can see possibilities for baby cards (the sweet little teddy bear or the little rag doll), teachers (the easel or the cup with the pencils/scissors inside), Winter (candy cane, stocking, ice skates), plus the obvious birthday cards for a little girl.
My card uses a piece of Cosmo Cricket PP (it’s a great line – you need some!) and cardstock that’s been distressed – and in the case of the olive green strip, embossed. I used some Prima flowers and my MS branch punch to make the floral embellishment. The stocking image has been flocked (the white cuff and toe portions) and the orange in the stocking has been covered in glaze even though you can’t tell in the picture. I love the addition of pink to the traditional green/red Christmas colour combo!
I used Nestability dies in my Cuttlebug to cut out the images and the mat but didn’t have the sizes I wanted so I customized the cuts by running them through the machine twice after moving the cardstock to where I wanted the extra cut. Incidentally, if you don’t own any Nestability dies and you are thinking of getting some you can use the rectangle dies to make square shapes by using this trick.
Please be sure to show some love to the other designers for this month’s release:
