I’m still struggling with a head cold that won’t go away. I can’t take decongestants for medical reasons so my head is not too happy most of the time. I would kill for a few Advil Cold & Sinus tablets. Oh well, it has to go away eventually, right?
I always try to get some card making time in on Saturday morning. It’s the time of the week where I feel the least pressure to do other things so I don’t feel as guilty messing around in my craft room instead of tending to the laundry mountain or cleaning floors…
This morning I made a birthday card – no particular recipient in mind. I used one of my newest Whipper Snapper stamps and a fairly bright pink that is definitely not my norm.
This card is 5.5X5.5″ square which is a little larger than my normal cards. So many of my Whipper Snapper stamps are large (except for Anna Wight’s cute cling mount sets) so I decided to pick up some larger envelopes and start making bigger cards from time to time. The envelopes are 6X6″ but I usually have some bulky embellishments so the extra wiggle room will make it easier to insert the cards into envelopes.
I did some wavy stitching around the border of the polka dotted paper (Echo Park Little Girl) and played around with some stacked buttons and ribbon scraps. Not sure how I feel about the embellishment but at least it’s a little different.
As usual these days, I popped some bling on the sentiment punch out. I bought a lot of rhinestones and pearls over Christmas (on sale at M’s) and there’s no point in letting them go to waste.
Enjoy the rest of your day. I’m off to see what I should have been doing instead of making this card. (I’m sure laundry is on the list)
