Just Rite for Gift-making
Altered Stuff February 9th, 2009Just Rite is certainly making a name for itself in the stamping world. Their monogrammed stampers have made a big splash in the last 6 months and are a great way to personalize just about any paper craft.
I received a monogram stamping kit for my birthday from my in-laws (thanks Phyl and Colin!) and also purchased some items during a sale that Just Rite had in December (went in on BOGO with my friend Karen).
I did play with the stamper a little bit when I first got my order but it was close to Christmas and I had too much going on with card-making and the usual hustle and bustle of the season. Last week I finally made a small project using the 1 5/8″ monogram stamper and I’ll be sure to try it out again in the not-too-distant future.
When making the Valentine’s Day bundle that I raffled off for charity, a co-worker admired the mini-composition book in the set and I offered to make her one. I’m sure she didn’t really think much of whether I would make it or not but I did sit down that very weekend and alter a notebook for her. I just happen to know her middle name so I was armed with her correct initials for the monogram. Here’s how it turned out:
The little black and clear rhinestone details are actually from a package of cellphone “bling”. I had been looking for some black rhinestones and I got quite a few in this package for $1.00 at Dollarama.
The paper is a DCWV Old World Stack. Very vintage and distressed looking without doing any work!
A quick project with great results!
I don’t have time for the usual blah, blah, blah and supplies list tonight. Spent most of the evening at the Emergency room with my husband (he’s fine – well, he’s not fine but he doesn’t have a collapsed lung like his doctor thought so I’m fairly happy about that)
