Today’s challenge card is not one of my favourites since I started trying to use up the images and scraps that are lurking in every available corner of my craft room but I wanted to show the not so great cards along with the ones that turned out to be favourites (it’s only fair!)
I bought this Greeting Farm image on sale (it came with another that I don’t believe has ever seen ink) but “ruined” it when I tried out some glimmer spray that I got in the same order (spray that has never been used since)…not sure why I didn’t toss the image but that’s how this challenge started in the first place.
Since the image was already coloured, it was obvious that I would be featuring purple and yellow on the card – and I like green with purple so there’s colour number three…I then needed a 4th colour due to the layout I created and decided to use some in colour cardstock that I don’t like…it kind of goes with the other colours and now I have half a sheet less of it!
I was originally going to use grey cardstock (which would have worked due to the grey cat in the image) and probably should have. Too late now! I also managed to use up 6 purple flat backed pearls on this card so I’m pleased about that!
The challenge is going fairly well. I’ve made
12 15 cards as of this post and used up some of the embellishments. I would say that a third of the cards are not remotely spectacular but they’re all useable. One or two even turned out to be very attractive cards (in particular, a baby card and a couple of boy birthday cards) and my card stash just keeps growing!
I do want to work on other things but I’ll keep going until Friday and then there will be a little more space and a little less clutter in my craft room.
