Bundle of Butterflies
Cards, paper crafts February 19th, 2012There’s not a lot of stamping on today’s project and no markers were uncapped in the process.
I wanted to make a co-worker a little thank you gift for all the extra assistance she’s been giving during some short-staffing issues. If she’s picking up some slack that makes my life soooo much easier at work.
Of course, she’s been told verbally that she’s been a blessing but I thought a personal gift would be a nice touch.
I used my Cricut to cut butterflies out of 3X3″ squares of textured cardstock (I used Elegant Edges – didn’t even realize there was a butterfly in there until yesterday!) and embellished the squares with pearls, buttons and rustic twine. I then used pop dots to raise them on the card front and stamped 4 different sentiments so the cards could be used for various purposes.
The set actually contains 4 cards but I couldn’t fit one of them into the picture. The inside of each card has a blank panel of white cardstock so she can write a note and the top and bottom of the panels inside are decorated with green patterned paper (the same paper was used to make a beaded pen)
Once I had everything done I tried to package them in a clear box but the cards have so much dimension that it was too tight a fit so I put them in a clear bag instead and made a coordinating tag:
I used the cut outs from the butterfly panels and lots of pearls to decorate the tag – plus I couldn’t resist sanding it a bit to bring out a little of the white core. Here’s a close up:
I hope she likes it!

Very nice little Thank You package. I’m sure she loved it! I like the coordinating pen too. When I make them, I always put the paper inside the pen by rolling the paper up and inserting it into the top of the pen but I like how you do it on the outside. I’ll have to try that!
