I hope this card is really “girlie” as that was the request from the person who ordered it. I have no children and I’m not particularly girlie myself (though my parents swear I was when I was really young) but I think lots of pink, glitter, and pearls probably meet the mark.
I’m a bit disappointed with the smaller piece of patterned paper. It didn’t quite give the impact I was hoping for but I needed something for a little contrast between the pink mat on the image and the pink background paper. If I could do this over, I think I’d bring the strip of paper all the way to the left instead of scalloping an edge – I don’t think it’s really doing anything for the card but I was trying to mix things up a little.
It was reallly fun to colour, glitter and add pearls to the tutu on this Elzybells stamp (retired). It was sooo tempting to glitter the shoes too but I thought that would detract from the tutu. I used pink glitter on the main part of the tutu and I used glitter dust on the underside so it would keep the different shades I coloured.
I wanted to add a pink bow to the top of the bear’s head but I don’t think I could tie one small enough.
I dusted off some of my gazillions of prima flowers and added them “here and there” on the card. I used pearls as the centres to tie in with the pearls on the tutu. (note to self: buy more pearls)
The sentiment and the number one are PTI – I got a box of goodies on Thursday that I ordered just over a month ago…that’s not too bad from PTI to little old me here in Newfoundland. I was just starting to wonder about the order when it arrived. The worst part was that my back was still killing me on Thursday and I couldn’t really enjoy the contents until yesterday. Longest 2 days ever!
Speaking of my PTI order - I think I’ll go play with my new stamps, dies and cardstock. Where am I going to put all this stuff?
