Dude, where’s my kite?
Cards October 13th, 2009As promised, here’s another card from Anna Wight’s newest release “His Favorite Things”. I am going to blame the Dayquil/Nyquil cocktail for the title of my post. It’s nice to have an excuse!
I used the main image in this set for today’s card but I’m anxious to make a card using the truck or the plane in this set as the art is adorable. For now, meet my kite flyin’ dude:
I used the Recollections Autumn paper I got from Michael’s (if you haven’t bought it you might want to pick some up – it’s on sale and it makes great masculine cards!) and teamed it with cocoa and mustard coloured cardstock. I inked up the edges on just about everything and had to cut some dimensional foam into teeny, tiny pieces for that kite tail! Here’s a side view of that detail (ignore how creepy the floating head looks…front on it’s just fine!):
The word “Dude” is from the same set. I cut apart the “Little Dude” saying for greater versatility. Of course, you could always choose to just ink one of the words but I often separate the words in my stamp sets.
This set, just like yesterday’s, is quite versatile. The images can be used for a number of different cards – you can turn the little guy into a baseball player or a cowboy, you could use the hobby horse for a baby card, the truck for moving, the plane for a going away card…you get the idea.
Now my head is just swimming in ideas…must go make a card before I lose those thoughts!
P.S. If anyone finds a coughed up lung, it’s mine…reward offered!
