Whew!  Yesterday’s blog hop was intense!  It was my first one and I was a little nervous posting my never-before-seen projects but I think things went well.

I’ll be back later to update my post with the winner of the blog candy. (want to give people a chance to enter)

UPDATE:  The winner is number 11 (using Random.Org) which is Natalie!  I’ll be sending Natalie an email asking for her snail mail address…thanks for taking the time to visit yesterday – I had a lot of fun!

I’ve been away from my craft room off and on lately due to a bad back but managed to make 2 cards over the weekend (which is not very productive for me) so I’ve got a couple of things to show you this week and hopefully my back is on the mend and I’ll be able to do more (sometimes what I’m doing is for an order and it’s quite repetative so I don’t bother blogging everything I do).

Today’s card is a birthday card that I made for absolutely no reason – which is nice.  I was just playing with some papers and came up with this layout.  The paper I chose dictated the stamp used.  I tend to choose my image first and then paper but this one is a little backwards from my usual methods:

I used lots of distress ink on all the papers – not sure why but I was in the mood to vintage up the paper today.

The stamp is from TAC – I ordered a bunch of their stuff when I first started stamping.  They were the first guys that I knew of that used cling mount for their stamps so I was impressed with the system and with how much more affordable their stamps were than the stamps from other companies.

Of course, lots of places offer cling mount now and I’m certainly glad about that.  I rarely use my wood-mounted stamps (which is a bit of a crime) as they are not right there in front of me like my cling mount and acrylic stamps.  I’m a very “out of sight, out of mind” person.

I used Cosmo Cricket Garden Girl paper and garden green cardstock for this card.  You’ll probably be seeing some new paper soon as I caved and bought a 12X12 pad of paper at M’s over the weekend – I really try not to buy the larger paper but I’ve been eyeing it for months and had a 50% off coupon.  I might need to order some stamps to go with it!

Speaking of orders, I bought some seam tape online last week (don’t have it yet but it’s shipped) and I’m going to give the wrinkle ribbon thing a try.  Who knows?  If I like it I might make some vintage cards – it is wedding season so that would come in handy.

Visit me tomorrow – I’ll be back with a card that’s MUCH more elegant than my usual creations.

Thanks for dropping in!
