I know I’ve been away from the blog for a few days but DH and I had a very social weekend and sometimes (but only sometimes!) our social life takes precedent over our hobbies etc.

My older brother (and his lovely wife) came to visit as it was a long weekend in the province he lives in (if only we had such luck in NL as I could REALLY use an extra day).  We took them out to supper on Saturday to our favourite restaurant and then had them back to our house for dessert and coffee so we spent the day getting the house in shape for company.

Today we were invited to my SIL’s parents’ house for supper (my parents were invited too) so I spent my morning making some hostess gifts and a couple of gift sets for SIL’s nieces.  I didn’t take pictures of the hostess gifts (a box-in-a-bag with a Bath & Bodyworks candle and a re-packaged box of Nestle Mousse Dessert selections (I thought the box was ugly so I made my own box and put the chocolate inside.  Much better!)

My gifts for the nieces were my standard notepads, beaded pens and a corner bookmark with a matching tag.  I didn’t take shots of them packaged in clear bags but I’m sure you can work out the finished product.

Here’s A’s gift:

…and here’s E’s gift:

They’re lovely girls and I was really pleased to see the younger sister walking around with the notepad and pen in her hand before dinner…I think they enjoyed getting a personalized gift as small as it was.

Dinner was lovely, the company was great and we didn’t have to wash a dish.  A great way to end the weekend!

I’m not listing supplies tonight but I used My Mind’s Eye Alphabet Soup PP, Crate Paper (School Spirit or something like that) PP, and PTI cardstock.

Enjoy your evening!
