Our office closed for the day due to a power outage (Hurricane Leslie) and it was a stressful drive home (very windy plus a rock took out my back windshield…fun times).  Happily, I’m home now and safe and warm and almost dry.

Since I have some extra time that I wasn’t expecting, I thought I’d try to write up a few blog posts.  Even though I’ve been doing a reasonable amount of “creating” lately there isn’t enough time to take pictures, edit the pics and then write up a post.  While I do enjoy blogging, I feel actually making the cards is more important than writing about them so when time is tight I’d rather make a card than talk about it.

I’ve got 2 cards to show today.  Same stamp, same paper line but different layouts.  The first one is my favourite of the two:

I used my Mr. Huey mister (white) which I love but I’m still struggling with trying to get a more “blotchy” look.  So far I mainly end up with a fine spray.  Hopefully, I’ll get the hang of it soon.

I’m giving myself bonus points for using up 3 brads (making memories – I’ve had them since my early papercrafting days).   I think the paper is Chicken Dumpling (Jillybean Soup).  The stamp is a Recollections stamp (Michael’s).  I coloured it and cut it out so I could pop it up on the tag.

Card number 2:

More Chicken Dumpling mixed with Basic Grey (the pink paper).  Fairly traditional layout but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I cut out the image again and popped it on top of the same image stamped in pink (the stars are part of the image but I didn’t want to use the full image on the first card).  I prefer the image without the stars, personally.

So, now I’ve got two baby cards for my stash.  Yay me.
