Ahhh!  That was refreshing!  A nice summer break.  I know it’s not good for the blog but it’s good for the soul and I’m glad I did it.  I took pictures of some of the things I made over the summer and now I have to edit them and will weed out the garbage.  Hopefully, some of the projects will be blog-worthy.

I was actually going to get back in the swing of things right after Labour Day but I got the ‘flu and I’m only just getting over it.  Luckily, there’s a backlog of cards to show you so I’ll have something to share for the next week or so.  I’m keeping this hobby under control other than seasonal rushes so I won’t be posting every day but I will post when I’ve got something fun to share.

Today’s card is a wedding card and it measures 6X6″.  I used some pretty Echo Park paper on the card and a retired Elzybells stamp (one of um, two wedding stamps that I own – I really need someone to design some stamps that appeal to me for wedding cards…)

I broke out my colouring pencils and OMS for this card as I wanted a softer look to the image.  I knew I wouldn’t be able to get the empty space I wanted on those bears if I used my markers.  I haven’t mastered that technique yet. (but I’m hoping to soon!)

I did lots of edge distressing on the paper after stitching around the edges and I used some linen ink all over the card to give it a nice antique feel.  I love vintage looking wedding cards.  Don’t ask me why.  I guess it’s my interpretation of “romantic” (I am NOT a romantic person).

Back tomorrow with a card I made using my Cricut.
