Today’s card came together surprisingly quickly.  I actually made a mistake when cutting the cardstock the image was stamped on and had to revamp the layout I’d originally planned on.  As a result, the card was a lot less complex than intended and I think the cleaner layout works better so that’s a win!

I used a cute Penny Johnson (Stampavie) image I’ve had for a few years.  I purchased this one from One Crazy Stamper which is my favourite Canadian mail order source for card-making supplies.

The paper is from My Mind’s Eye and I got it as part of my birthday gift in an order from Simon Says Stamp (I like spreading the crafting dollar love…).

Here’s the card:

I really wanted to add some enamel dots or hearts to the card (and I do have the matching enamel embellishments from MME) but there are so many hearts on the background paper that any additions would simply be lost.

This image coloured up quite quickly as there are lots of large areas making it less tricky to shade.  I was deliberately messy with the edges of the fur just to soften the colouring.  It’s a cheerful Valentine for sure!

Must tidy my work area before bedtime or I’ll have no place to craft next time I can spare a few moments to play!
