Ugh!  I did NOT take advantage of some free time last night to catch up on my card class homework (though I did watch THREE shows on Netflix) so now I’m trying to get day 2 and 3 done today and hopefully get day 4 and 5 done tomorrow.

Day 2 was a single layer card – which the ladies giving the class absolutely rocked (Loved Julie Ebersole’s card the most – it was so crisp and detailed yet simple at the same time.  Lots of masking going on in Day 2’s classes which is not a technique I would normally go for (I don’t have the patience!)

I did make a single-layer card and I even masked just so I can say I tried but my card did not turn out the way I’d envisioned.  As such, I left off the scattering of bling I was going to add to the card as this one is going to be “recycled”.

Please note that all of the above mumblings are NOT complaints about the class – the class is fabulous and worth the money.  I just wasn’t happy with my particular efforts on this assignment.  However, if the homework hadn’t been single-layered cards, I think I could have been happier if I’d popped up all these circles for some dimension.  It’s still good to try something outside your comfort zone.

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday…I’m off to review Day 3’s class and do my homework.  Oh, and I’ll be back tomorrow with instructions for a little Valentine Treat that you’re going to want to make!
