I signed up for an online card making class on Tuesday (one day after the classes started) and have only just started my homework for day 1.

The class was a very reasonable $25 USD for two weeks and is taught by several women that are well known in the card-making world (including guest designer limedoodle – who is the Queen of CAS in my opinion).

I’ve been watching the videos on my lunch break and am always dying to try out some of the things I’ve learned but I don’t always have time to spend in my craft room in the evenings.

Tonight, however, husband (and me!) was fed, the dishes were washed, laundry done, and I even got to unwind from my busy day by watching a tv show with my dog by my side.  I realized that if I really, really wanted to, I could probably spend an hour working on my homework instead of waiting until this weekend to do the full first week of assignments.

Day 1’s lessons included tips on craftsmanship and there were sketches to use as inspiration for the homework assignment.  I chose to go with Julie Ebersole’s sketch and made the following card in far less time than I’d usually spend putting a card together:

I think it turned out quite cute though I’m dying to splash some Mr. Huey mist or some sort of ink splatters on the card to eat up a little more of that white space.

I used Washi tape along the top of the card and pulled the colours from the tape to stamp my telephone.  If I had a subtle background stamp, I probably would have used it on the background but I think ink spatters will do the trick (I’ll have to do them later as I don’t have time to take more photos tonight).

Tomorrow night, I’m hoping to spend some time on my other homework assignments because I’d like to be caught up for next Monday’s class.

Check back tomorrow for a vintage Valentine (Design Team project!)
