Day 2 of tag making (I’ll graduate to cards shortly…not quite ready) and I went a little crazy on techniques for this one.

I used embossing paste, wink of stella, embossing powder, my Silhouette, and distress ink for these tags so it was time-consuming but fun.  The hardest part is waiting for the embossing paste to dry.

I am not happy with the sentiment.  It was very difficult to embossing it over the embossing paste because the surface was quite uneven.  I’m sucking it up though.

Used a fairly new PSS stamp set called A Blessed Christmas.  I’m not particularly religious so a whimsical set like this is just perfect.

Once my stenciled stars dried, I used distress ink to antique the tags.  The angels were cut with my Silhouette and then coloured with Copics.  The wings are covered in Wink of Stella but I’m not sure if you can see that in the picture.  I used Recollections black embossing powder but, as mentioned, it didn’t do a great job on the bumpy surface of the tag…I will reserve judgement on this brand of embossing powder but, thus far, am unimpressed.

The string is hemp that I inked up with distress ink.  I debated adding a couple of clear sequins but I don’t want to detract from the embossed stars.  IRL, these tags have a lot of texture.
