It’s Saturday!  How could you NOT enjoy your day?  Sleeping in, taking time to have a “real” breakfast, reading the paper, not having to take a shower as soon as you get up and not having to put on your work clothes the minute you’ve finished brushing your teeth…it’s awesome.  Oh, and not having to scrape the snow/ice/frost off your windshield while you’re still trying to wake up.

Anyway, you’ll soon be tired of Penny Black stamps and Echo Park paper but I am really feeling the need to dive into these colourful designs and I try to ink up every new stamp when I get it so you’ll have to wait until I get this out of my system.  If you’re patient, there might be a little reward in it for you in the very near future.

In honour of Saturday, here’s today’s card:

Are you feeling it?  Does it make you want to run out and buy some Echo Park paper for your very own?  This particular paper has a very subtle shabbiness to it and I amped it up by distressing the edges with my new We R Memory Keepers Heart Attack distressing tool.  I like it!  It’s a great way to bring out the white core of patterned paper without having to rough up the edges too much (though I like that look too).  There’s a little scraper blade inside the tool (which I didn’t use on today’s card) if you want to make the edges of the paper a little more distressed.   I hope to see refills soon (it comes with 3 sanding discs but I have no idea if you can buy refills yet).

I also used PTI cardstock and ribbon…yum!  I knew it would be dangerous to order some of their stuff.  I could easily make the switch to their cardstock but I still have loads and loads of SU ribbons and cardstock plus I have almost all their inks and markers so I’m not sure if I want to go there…of coursel, if my fairy craftmother every dropped by with a bajillion dollar gift certificate to PTI I wouldn’t have a problem.  I have enough love for cardstock regardless of race or religious affiliation.  Bring it on!
