I made this little set for my weekly PaperWorks Co DT blog post.  This month I’m working with Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety paper and coordinating embellishments as featured in the July Papercard Kit.

Except for the apple bushel I made, this project whipped up incredibly quickly and I didn’t use quite 2 6X6 sheets of patterned paper.  Pretty impressive!

Here’s my apron card (that thing in the pocket is supposed to be a seed packet – it kind of popped up while I was taking the picture and I didn’t notice…I’m going to pretend I popped it up on purpose so you could get a better look at it):

(yes, it’s really a card…the fold is on the top)  Not only did this turn out almost as I’d envisioned, I got to dust off my Cricut machine which hadn’t made it to my new craft room until this week (I don’t have a good spot to set it up in…I think I need to get DH to install a shelf for my printer so I can set the Cricut down on my countertop).  Now that the Cricut is in my craft room I might get some use out of it.

After I made the card, I made a little gardening journal and decorated a few items to go with it:

I made some journal pages in MS word and cut them down to size for the inside of the journal:

Then I packaged it all up in my handmade apple bushel (and I stamped some tissue paper with fruit and vegetable stamps to coordinate with my set):

Cute?  It only cost me about 2 bucks for the whole thing!   Now I just need to find a gardener to give it to!

Weekend starts at 5 pm…can’t wait!
