I must confess that I got a Cricut for my birthday um, almost 3 years ago, and I have never used it for more than a 2-day period before abandoning it for months on end.  I don’t know why.  It’s a clever little machine and is normally the kind of thing that I think I could be really creative with.  I suspect I just don’t have the patience to fiddle with gluing all the little bits and bobs that you have to cut out in order to create your focal embellishment.

Having said that, the more recent cartridges have layers which makes it a little more pleasant to create a critter…which is what I’ve done with today’s card.  This was a birthday card for my cousin’s partner.  The pig theme is a bit of a private joke that I took the liberty of borrowing for the special day:

I think the paper is Echo Park.  It’s been a while since I made the card so it’s not fresh in my mind but I’m pretty sure this is EP.  The pig is from “Create a Critter” which is a great cartridge.  Lots of options on it and most of the mainstream animals are represented (no llamas or camels to the best of my recollection).   This is a bigger 5.5X5.5″ card.

I also made a matching tag (and dressed up a brown lunch bag) for the gift…here’s a shot:

If you’re still reading and your curious about the contents, I found some pig-themed goodies at Michael’s to go with the coconut-lime verbena stuff I ordered from Bath & BodyWorks:

See you soon!
