It’s been an interesting week in St. John’s.  The weather has been terrible – lots of snow and extremely cold temperatures (normally the temperature is “mild” for a Canadian winter in St. John’s – it hovers around zero).  In addition to the cold and the snow, there have been major blackouts island-wide all week and we were without power for several days (and without heat or a method of cooking any food etc).  Needless to say, I’ll have to make a plan to be more prepared going forward as it has not been a pleasant week.

The circumstances limited my card-making plans last weekend but I did manage to get a couple of hours here and there to play with some of the things I received for Christmas.  I’m sharing another Paper Smooches image today and have a few more to show you over the next few days…then I’ll tackle Valentine’s Day projects…I think!

Here’s today’s card:

baathday wishes

The picture came out a little bit shadowed but you get the idea.

I fussy cut the sheep (I don’t believe Paper Smooches has a die set for their Party Posse stamp set at this time – I’d buy it if they did – the feet were not that fun to cut around) and used an MFT snow drift die for my “grass”…the flatbacked pearls are coloured with copics to match the colours of the paper.

I’m trying to use lots and lots of patterned paper on my current cards – I’m drawn to the clean, white cards but I’m so addicted to patterned paper that I can’t make the move to a different style.  Oh well!

Back tomorrow with another birthday card.

Stay warm!
