A rainy day card in honour of Hurricane Bill

This is an image I recently purchased from Stamping Bella – it’s my first order from them.  I’ll probably do a little review on their service/products in the near future as my last stamp review was surprisingly well received.

I used some K&Co patterned paper on this card and it’s quite a cheerful card – much more colourful than most of the cards I make.

Since making this card, I have performed a small operation on the stamp and removed the wings…it’s a stamp from the Huggabugs series at Stamping Bella and, while cute, I don’t think the general public will “get” the wings on the image.  Perhaps I’ll show a before and after in my review.

I’m glad the water droplets are visible in the picture of the card.  I highly recommend having some glossy accents or similar glaze on hand for card-making.  It’s great to add dimension and it makes a great glue too!  Mine is Ranger brand but there are several types out there including one that SU! makes. (crystal effects, I believe)  I got mine at my LSS but I would imagine it’s available at Michael’s too.

My embellishment is two primas from a Dave’s Deals bundle I got at eP and a random button from my stash.  The image is stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with SU markers and an aquapainter.

I’ll be back tomorrow (I’ve got a few cards left to share but haven’t been in the craft room much lately…)
