Today’s card (well, it’s yesterday’s card but I’m blogging about it today) was a pleasure to make.  Not because of the paper or the stamps or the tools I used to create it but because it’s a wedding card for a co-worker that means a lot to me.

R (and his new bride, L) has been working with the company I work for since he left high school.  I’ve known him since he was 18 and to see him so focused, settled and happy just makes me smile.  He’s a gentle, sincere, kind-hearted person and I’m sure L knows just how lucky she is to be marrying him.

Anywhoooo…not like me to get so mushy – which just goes to show how much I think of the guy…

I used a stamp I purchased from Stamping Bella for the express purpose of making a card for R & L – of course, I’ll be able to use it for more wedding cards in the future!  I went with my go-to wedding card colours of black, white and pink (I do try to use the wedding colours if I know them – I didn’t in this case):

I used some versatile black, white and grey glittered paper and my trusty heart-shaped nestie die.  I only have a few of these dies and I try to carefully choose the ones I will get some use out of.

You can’t see it in the picture but the image has been glittered in strategic places and glazed with a sakura glaze pen. (the hair, the shoes, the hat)

As the image was a bit too large to fit in my heart shaped die, I cut it and placed it on an angle.  If you look at the bride you can see I barely got the top of her head and the tip of her shoes on the die cut.

Well, I’m off to the wedding reception in a few minutes.  Enjoy the rest of your evening.
