DH and I are winging our way to the UK this evening (this is an autopost) so I won’t be making any cards for about 2 weeks…(There will be a couple of autoposts though…at this point I don’t know how many as I’m still not feeling very well and I have a lot to do before we leave…busy, busy!).

Today’s card uses the new Anna Wight set “Her Favorite Things” (note that I took liberties with the spelling in my post title…I gotta spell it the “right” way!).  I am anxious to use the teddy bear image for a baby card but haven’t had a chance thusfar…I’m hoping that changes very soon – I’ve got ideas but I’m too busy to get them out into the form of a card.  Luckily, I did get a chance to colour him once as this is the first card I made with the set.

I don’t normally do frilly cards but I thought this little girl called for it.  I used some Daisy D’s paper (I’m down to my last few pieces – the line has been discontinued, I believe) and this card really called for some sewing but I don’t sew on my cards at this point.  I do have a sewing machine but it’s in the basement and so not worth dragging out for a card.  Incidentally, I tried taking a picture of this card a squillion times but could not get the colours to come out “true”.  The pink is close but the green is a darker shade IRL.

I punched out a circle of the pink PP onto a clear button and made a bow from some gauzy pink ribbon.  The girl’s dress and hair bow are paper pieced from the patterned paper and I watercoloured the rest of the image and the bear which is cut out and placed in front of the girl.

I’m going to give this image another go when I get back from my trip.  I think I should stick to my simplified, tailored style of cards…it works for me.
