Tomorrow is Canada Day meaning that I have a day off (yay me!).  It also means I might get to make some cards (unless the weather is condusive to staining my front steps…that’s a bit of a priority).

No matter what I’ll be doing tomorrow, I certainly have had a pleasant evening so far.  We stopped and bought some amazing cupcakes on the way home from work and I made lemon pepper salmon, paprika scallops, and butternut squash for supper.  We also bought a movie while we were shopping so we opened a bottle of wine and ate supper while watching the movie.  Once we had enough space, we made coffee and had our cupcakes.

I then spent an hour puttering in my craft room and made a card for Mercy’s sketch challenge (it’s my first time participating – you can find the challenge and the sketch HERE. )

It didn’t turn out quite the way I’d envisioned but I’m going to blame it on the wine! (and I’m also going to make an effort to do the sketch challenge again next Tuesday)

Here’s the card:

I think I tried too hard to put my own spin on the sketch. (hence the um, interesting ribbon treatment.  I was trying to make the ribbon look a little more like the bird was sitting on a branch.)

On the bright side, I did use some Cosmo Cricket paper that’s been staring at me for a while.

I’ll be back with something tomorrow…I’m just not sure what it will be yet!
