Whew!  For those that are not aware, Hurricane Igor and Newfoundland were closely aquainted yesterday.  The damage on the Island is unbelievable.

St. John’s wasn’t as hard hit as some areas but we did have flooding, tree damage, property damage etc.  Our office closed a couple of hours early (a lot of other businesses had closed by this time) and we were out all day today as we didn’t have power.  We were on stand by in case the power did come back but by 2 pm it was fairly obvious that we wouldn’t be going to work.

Our house had some damage in the form of siding being torn from one area and we lost a tree but other than that we came out fairly unscathed.  Poor Jack was shaking all day and did NOT want to go outside to do his business.

I wasn’t crafting last night – I was trying to make supper and get some laundry done before the power went.  Since the lights were flickering on and off all night I didn’t want to turn on my computer as a power surge could do some damage.

Once it was clear that we weren’t going to work today I did get to make a card:

This is a shaker card.  I haven’t made one in a zillion years.  It’s for a baby shower and I used some fun Echo Park paper that I got from PaperWorks Co a couple of weeks ago.  It’s yummy and you need it (just sayin’).  I got all three lines that they had in the store and I’m hoping to see the new Christmas line there so I can snap that up too.

I used my nesties to cut out the circles and also used them to cut the foam that I used to make the shaker box.  Sadly, I didn’t have any matching beads for shaker stuffing – I thought I had some confetti in the shape of diaper pins but maybe I gave them away…everything else is fairly self-explanatory.  The stamp is by Whipper Snapper…I need to order new ones soon…love their stuff!
