Today is our wedding anniversary so I drafted up this post last night…I’m taking the night off from my craft room…

Now that I’ve finished ornaments for the year, I can finally move on to Christmas cards.  I made a card for my in-laws last night and intended to make it mail-friendly but couldn’t resist adding a button and popping the image (lovingly coloured, btw) up on the card front.

I used a gorgeous Whipper Snapper stamp and a sentiment from PTI.  It’s the first time I’ve opened my “In The Meadow” stamp set so prepare to see more cards using this set in the near future.

The layout I used is a fairly standard one that I tend to use for larger images.  The paper is Basic Grey and is much more elegant than the papers I usually go for but I know that my mother in law will like this paper so I’m happy I had it in my stash.

The snowflakes were punched, distressed and glittered by me a few weeks ago in preparation for the Christmas card making season.  Sadly, between the snowflakes and the ornaments I made this year, I’m completely out of Martha Stewart Snow glitter and can’t find a new bottle anywhere.  🙁

You probably can’t see it in the picture but I used some Spica pen on the snowman’s face, the bell on his hat and a little on the ground under his feet…a subtle hit of sparkle without annoying glitter residue.

I have 5 birthday cards to make this week so I have to switch things up a little for a few days but I’ll be back to playing with my Christmas goodies very soon.
