Blogging has taken a back-burner due to some “family” stuff.  I simply don’t get the chance to use my craft room anymore.  I hate to “abandon” my blog as the purpose of it is to push myself to create things and not go too long without posting something.

I did make some invitations that were ordered simply because I’ve been making the invitations for this young lady for years now and I think it’s so sweet when I’m asked to do them again.  Plus, life hasn’t been easy lately so it was nice to have an excuse to carve out some “me” time.

The party is taking place at a local restaurant called “Jungle Jim’s” so the theme is, perhaps, a bit obvious.  I also think it might be a shade juvenile for an 11 year old but I used glitter paper, sequins, a pop of pink, and personalized each invitation so I hope that makes up for any “babyish” vibe.  I also stamped her age (to be) on the balloons for an extra touch:

The monkeys were made with my Cricut and they are popped up on the card – as is the balloon and the white panel so there’s plenty of dimension on these invitations.  A few sequins I scored in a dollar store during a recent trip to Toronto happen to match the colours of the invitation perfectly so on they went.

In the restaurant’s jingle they sing “Swing on in, swing in to Jungle Jim’s” so I played on that for the front sentiment.

I hope she likes them!
