A special request get well card.  Another wonderful Whipper Snapper stamp borrowed from Karen. (I want to have a card making session with her but the longer it goes the longer I get to keep her stamps!)

The stamp inspired the paper choices for this card.  It’s a larger 5X6.5″ card which I usually find very difficult to make but the image was such a generous size that it took up a lot of the white space.  I had a tied bow in my stash from a project I was working on a little while ago so I sewed an orange button to the front to give it an extra splash of colour and used it on this project.

The pillow and quilt are paper pieced.  A great technique but it requires patience (I am sadly lacking) and some sharp scissors (luckily, I have an awesome pair of Cutterbee scissors – I recommend them.  You can get them at your local M’s and using a coupon makes them reasonably priced)

I used the same papers as the background and used a new punch for the blue accent on the bottom of the paper.  I love the smaller scallops in this punch and it was quite easy to use.  Sometimes punches don’t like the thickness of SU cardstock but this one did a great job.

I took two pictures of this card (well, about 7 really).  The first picture has better colour but the angle is a little off…the second picture is a little too “blue” but I’m adding it in case you think the angle on the first card is as strange as I think it is.

Forgot to mention that the PP is from a K&Co Brenda Walton Mat Pad…got it on clearance at Mikes.  Great pastel designs suitable for country-themed cards or for a baby card.

Weekend coming up…I hope to get some stamping time in!

(ETA: OMG! My *HERO* left me a comment – be still my heart!)
