I’m extra excited to show you my card today as it’s a card I made for my February Guest Designer stint at onecrazystamper.com

When I got the email asking if I wanted to be a guest designer, I think it took me 2 seconds to reply with a positive response!  As a bonus, I got the email on my birthday so that was a great gift for me.

Anyway, today’s card features an adorable Whimsy Stamps image called “Love Trip” .  It’s a perfect image for an anniversary or Valentine’s Day…it would even work great for a wedding or a bridal shower.  In fact, I think I’ll use it to make a wedding card in the not too distant future.

After I coloured my image using Copic markers, I distressed the white cardstock and sponged some linen ink over the image and around the edges to soften the white cardstock and to make the marker colours a little more muted.  I wanted the image toned down a bit because I chose Authentique’s “Lovely” paper pad for my patterned papers and the images are mostly vintage in feel.  (I think the 6X6″ pad is currently out of stock)

This was my first Authentique purchase and I have to say that the paper is nice and thick plus I like that the back side of each pattern in the 6″X6″ pad is a solid, coordinating colour which makes it easy to pick cardstock bases and accents for my projects.  If I hadn’t seen the image of the solid colours on the front of the package, I might have gone with a more predictable pink cardstock and ribbon choice but there was a golden brown colour that reminded me of kraft cardstock so I went with a neutral shade instead.

Once I assembled my card, I added a few pearls in various sizes and I found one red heart shaped button in my stash to use as an accent on my bow.

I’ll have a few more projects to show you on the 3rd, so please drop by again!
