missing ewe banner

This was my first chance to do anything in the craft room this week.  If you recall, last weekend I shared a picture of DH and the beags snuggling up on the sofa…DH wasn’t feeling well.  That was Saturday.  He continued to feel worse all weekend and I finally had to take him to the emergency room Sunday night (well, Monday morning as we arrived around 1 am).  We spent the whole night there waiting for him to be seen by a doctor.

He got a diagnosis around 5:30 am and was given a shot for the pain before I took him home. (He’s fine now, BTW)  We weren’t home 10 minutes when poor old Jack injured himself in the excitement of our return (the dogs were up all night waiting for us to come home – I saw the poor things stressing out when I checked in on them via our webcam).  He hit his eye off the corner of our footboard and I had to take him to the vet when they opened. (He’s fine now too)

Needless to say, it was a rough start to the week.

Fast forward to tonight and I managed to make a card for my LSS’s weekly challenge which is fussy-cutting.  Not a difficult challenge for me as I do it all the time.  Love all the stamps with matching dies you can get these days that take the work out of fussy-cutting but I didn’t cheat.  I used a fairly new Hero Arts stamp set and made this card:

You may notice that I took another crack at embossing paste.  This time, I sponged some ink over the raised areas once the paste was dry.  I used two colours of ink and tried to do an ombré effect.  It’s not exactly what I’d pictured (I should have masked the sentiment and made a smaller banner) but it’s actually kind of cute!

I added a few sequins just to balance out the card.  They’re not quite dry yet but I wanted to get this posted ASAP in case this weekend turns out like the last one!

I’m hoping to get back in here again tomorrow.  I’m feeling inspired to craft!
