I carved out some crafty time yesterday and finally got to play with my embossing paste (which I bought with the generous birthday gift my younger brother and sister-in-law gave me!).  It’s the first time I’ve used it so be gentle when you see the card.

My LLS has challenges every Monday and I really try to find time to play them as I want to be more active in my local paper crafting community (most people active in the group seem to be scrapbookers but all are welcome so I try to throw my hat in the ring with my cards whenever possible).

This week’s challenge was to use the Olympic Rings as inspiration (I’m oversimplifying but that’s the basic idea).

Initially I was going to go a bit more literal but when I found time to crack open the embossing paste and spotted the circle stencil I have, my original plans were scrapped (pun intended).

Here’s what I made:

I technically could have used this card for a Paper Smooches challenge as well but I had another option there as I’ve been using so many of my Paper Smooches products lately (incidentally, my LSS mentioned they’d be carrying Paper Smooches in the future so that will be cool).

Here’s hoping I get more crafty time soon…unfortunately, priority goes something like this: beagles, work, beagles, DH, beagles, groceries, beagles, cooking, beagles, housework, beagles, craft time…
