How I wish I could take a decent picture of a card!  This is such a cheerful, colourful card in real life.  I was going for a Montreal Canadiens look to the uniform and found this Cosmo Cricket paper that was just perfect for the background. (I think it’s the Cogsmo line)

My little dude is another High Hopes stamp called “Greg the Goalie”.  Like many other stampers I am seriously lacking in the masculine stamp department so I bought Greg as well as another “manly” stamp that I’ll be sharing once I’m out of Valentine mode.

This is a 4.75X4.75″ card but I haven’t mounted it on cardstock yet so the actual picture is a little smaller than that.  I usually print out my sentiments on cardstock before I start the cardfront but this time I did it the other way around simply because I was more in the mood to colour than to make a card.

Greg doesn’t have much in the way of embellishment as I am assuming the recipient is going to be a young man and the card will probably be “filed” in the garbage once the big day is over.  Of course, in my fantasy world every card that I make is lovingly preserved under and archival quality mat and fade-resistant, UV safe glass and then hung in a place of honour out of direct sunlight.

I’m still working my way through the High Hopes stamps.  I thought it was a huge order when I made my wish list but a few of the images are Christmas stamps so they will be put away until I start Christmas cards MUCH later this year.  That brings the current play list down to about 9 stamps.  I’m also waiting on some EZ Mount to arrive from a certain SCS Angel (thank you!) so a few of the images are not quite ready to come out and play.

See you tomorrow!
