I have to admit it’s not particularly fun to work on Mother’s Day cards just 3 weeks after my own mother’s passing but I have been thinking about my mom in a happy way while doing them so there is some positive in the negative. (I’m still at the point where I have to constantly occupy my thoughts so I don’t get upset.  There’s been a lot of reading and watching mindless tv shows the last 3 weeks…)

I CASEd the card I made today (from HERE) and probably should have used a more solid patterned paper for a better visual on the “love” and the “you” but it’s still a cute, kind of “scrappy” card – plus I got to use my new foam mounting tape (which smells like chemicals if you’re thinking about investing in a roll).

I used a new stamp set and a die that I purchased at my LSS last week along with some MME patterned paper from the prize pack I won from the same LSS during last month’s Cre8time challenge.

The enamel dots are MME from my stash and I used the PaperSmooches Alphadots letters to make the word “Mom” – which is heat embossed.

You can’t really tell in the picture but the patterned paper panel is raised up off the cardstock using foam tape.  I was going to raise the stitched journal card but I thought adding the cut outs to the die cut words would have looked strange so I adhered the journal card directly to the paper.

This is the only crafty thing I did today.  It was a bit of a wasted day other than some housework (which isn’t finished) and some laundry (darn, I have to re-make the bed withe the clean sheets and it’s already going on 11 pm…)

I’d better tidy up the chaos from making this card – it looks like a bomb went off in here since I dragged out so many supplies to make the card.
