I specifically wanted to use Pixy Stix candy for a Halloween project this year but had a devil of a time finding them.  I tried various department stores with no success.  I even checked the SCS Forms, Googled, etc. to find a good Canadian source.

Plenty of (American) posters suggested Dollar Tree which is a large dollar store chain in the US – not an option for those of us living on an island off the East Coast of Canada!

As a last attempt, I braved Dollarama (a Canadian dollar store) and BINGO!   I picked up a couple of packages for Halloween/Christmas projects.

I wanted Pixy Stix (that’s how it’s spelled, folks!) to use in pencil holder pouches.  I’ve made the pencil pouches but they get expensive when you’re putting 4 pencils in a sleeve as a gift and you want to make multiples of them.

I whipped up a batch of 8 pouches using some cute Recollections Halloween stickers I bought on clearance last year and some Cosmo Cricket patterned paper that I *had* to have 2 years ago and only used a few sheets of.

I’m not sure the picture does these justice.  They’re “frightfully” cute IRL.

On a separate note, I was tickled to discover that THIS card was featured on Whipper Snapper Designs Facebook page today.

Enjoy your weekend.  It’s a long weekend here in Canada!
