I unexpectedly carved out an evening of “me” time as it’s very stormy outside so that removed some of my obligations for the night (my Mom is still in hospital and I visit her every other day).  DH did the laundry, supper was leftovers from last night and that all added up to 3 free hours for me!

I got a Lawn Fawn set of stamps for Christmas (thanks, Dad!) and finally got to ink it up tonight.   I chose some Carta Bella patterned paper and cut a sheet of pale pink cardstock in quarters to make a set of punny Valentine’s Day cards:

Here are the 4 cards individually:

The banana is my favourite image and it was the most fun to colour.

Each card measures 4.25″ X 2.75″.  Of course, I didn’t have envelopes that size so I made some to go with the cards using some K&Co patterned paper that was in my stash.  I had to use 2 sheets because I needed a 6.75″X6″ piece of paper for each envelope.  I could have made smaller cards in order to get 4 envelopes out of one sheet but I’m not exactly short on patterned paper so I didn’t mind cutting into a couple of pieces.  I used scor-tape as a closure:

The cards are embellished with some Doodlebug twine and a small plastic heart that was in my stash (probably from Dollarama but could have been Michael’s).

Off to enjoy the snow…we’re getting between 70-80 cm in the next 24 hours so I’m hoping for a snow day tomorrow!  If I do get to stay home, I’d better wake up with some crafty mojo.
