Let’s get on with the show!

I’ve got a bunch of samples to show you today using the cutest Zack the Golfer stamp from PaperWorks Co’s newest Sports Series 2 release (I’ve also got some blog candy to give away so make sure you read the whole post!)

My first project is a card made with my new stamp plus a neat packaging idea for the golfer in your life:

Isn’t this cute?  I made a little golf bag that holds 2 golf balls (the lid comes off so you can get at the golf balls) – you could easily make it taller so you can fit 3 golf balls inside but I think smaller is cuter!  Here’s a closer shot of the holder:

My card and golf ball holder are decorated with 3 Bugs in a Rug paper (it’s so cheerful and I love the weight of it – perfect for machine stitching)  and I also paper pieced Zach’s hat with the same paper so everything matches perfectly.  I used Copic markers to colour Zach.

The “grass” was cut freehand and I snipped the edges and messed them up by running my fingernails over them to give the blades more dimension.  The banner is a toothpick coloured with a marker and I threaded it through a scrap of cardstock.  The big golf ball circle in the background was created by using Nestabilities and a Cuttlebug Embossing folder.   I also adhered a flat-back pearl over the golf ball in the image just because I had some in my stash.  I finished up with a little machine stitching and some silver brads for decoration.

My second project is also a card/packaging set and it shows how versatile the Zach the Golfer stamp is…

Is the golfer in your life female?  Not a problem…

Believe it or not, this is the SAME stamp I used in the first set.  I simply drew some pigtails and a few eyelashes on Zach and voila – Zoe the Golfer!  Two for the price of one!  And if you’re thinking you can’t do this, I can’t draw (I could when I was young but lost the skill somehow!) and managed to alter this stamp no problem (tip: lightly draw the hair with a pencil and then trace over it with a black fine tip marker.)

I chose frillier papers for this set to play up the femininity of my golfer.  I also added some ruffled ribbon and a curled paper flower.  The item on the right is actually a book of golf tees.  Here’s a shot of it when it’s open:

I used doodlebug design “stick with it” adhesive transfers and flock to add “fore u” to the inside of the matchbook style tee holder so even though you can’t tell by the picture, the letters are very cute and fuzzy.

The papers are Basic Grey  (on sale!) and Prism cardstock.

Here’s a close up of the card so you can see the rosette I made from a spiral of Basic Grey paper:

Don’t forget – you can get this stamp for 10% off if you order this weekend (or you can get the whole set PLUS the bonus stamps – all PWCO stamps are 10% off this weekend!)

Now for your reward for reading through all that!  The BLOG CANDY!!!!
