The best “guy” stamp set I have in my stash is the Paper Smooches set “My Guy”.

Last year I used the golf cart to make some Father’s Day cards and the sports car in the set is a bit of a “go to” for masculine birthdays but this year I tried not to overlook the smaller stamps in the set.

There’s a super-cute fish and fishing rod in the set that I’ve never used so I got them inky on Sunday and made a couple of cards using more scrap paper (I did have to add one sheet of uncut patterned paper for one of the cards as I’m down to smaller scraps):

Hopefully you can tell that the blob in front of the sentiment is a hash tag.  Not sure if a Dad that receives this will know what a hash tag is but I thought it was a cute embellishment.  It’s wood veneer coloured with a W9 Copic.

I made a second card using the same image but a different layout:

I like the second card better and was quite pleased with my little banners (hand-cut from scraps).  IRL the enamel dots match the card really well.  I probably need to put a little more energy into my photography but my room is in the basement PLUS I live in the foggiest, rainiest, least hours of sunlight per year city in Canada so using natural daylight is not practical.  I might invest in a light box some day but it would take up a lot of real estate in my craft room and I know I wouldn’t be bothered to put it away and set it up every time I want to photograph a card.

More Father’s Day cards tomorrow!
