Just like fashion, in paper crafting everything old eventually becomes new again.

I’ve been doing this (with varying degrees of satisfaction) long enough that some of the supplies I purchased when I first started making cards have come back into fashion. (or they’re now “on trend” as people say)

I used to use vellum for sentiments on my cards in the “olden days”.  Now people are using it to soften backgrounds and for all sorts of clever purposes.

I’m not as clever as most but saw someone use vellum as the backing on their image panel a while back and thought it was the cutest thing.  Thus the inspiration for today’s card.

I used 4 different dies to create this card – all from different manufacturers.  (if you want to count I used Paper Smooches, Avery Elle, Mama Elephant and Lawn Fawn dies)

I’m not going to win a prize for my use of washi but I was pleased to add some to the card along with some of my beloved enamel dots.  The sentiment is not placed correctly due to tricky die cutting (should have cut first and stamped second…a lesson was learned today) but I can live with it.

Papers are Doodlebug and (I think) Echo Park.  The brown and the gingham are from my scrap pile.  The washi is Kelly Purkey but I warn you that there are some issues with that washi tape…it’s overly sticky so it’s very difficult to tear off a clean piece.  I do NOT recommend it. (no offence to the insanely talented KP)

Off I go to fold some laundry!
