How appropriate that I’m using “Showers” in my post title as it’s so humid here today all I can think about is spending the whole day in the shower.  Yuck!  It’s actually much cooler this evening (it’s about 10 pm as I write this) than it was earlier today and the humidex is 28 degrees Celcius.  Doesn’t sound like a lot to you?  Well, in Newfoundland we call that really freakin’ hot!  I wouldn’t last a day in Texas in the summer.  It’s also a lot warmer and stickier in my little tiny craft room with the lights on and the computer running.

Anyhoo…on to my card.  I had to make a quick and simple card because I’m wilting away in the heat.  I’m not totally thrilled with it but I don’t really have any wedding shower type stamps (as always, a work in progress but I did just order a cute wedding stamp from Stamping Bella so I’ll have one soon!)

I used a Hero Arts clear set (Elephants, I love elephants!) and some Basic Grey paper.  The card colours are rose red and old olive.  Not very traditional but I don’t know the bride’s wedding colours and at least my card will stand out!

So there you go – a quick and easy shower card.  The paper might look a little incongruous as it’s much more elegant than the stamped image but hey, it’s just a card, right?

Hopefully back tomorrow but maybe not…my “little” brother and his wife are coming for a brief visit and they are staying with us.  We’ve been working like crazy to redecorate our rarely-used guest room plus I’ve been on a mad cleaning spree.  The room was begging for a redo so I was glad for the excuse but I’m very glad it’s finished!  I do have a project in mind that I want to make for my sister-in-law before they arrive tomorrow evening so it is slightly possible I’ll be back to share it with you very soon.
