Yes, I’m here.  I have been making some cards lately but haven’t had the time to blog about them.  We’re doing some home projects plus I have a few things to do for a short business trip so I’ve been rushing around a lot after work every evening.

Luckily, it was a long weekend so I’ve found some time to update the blog.

I have been trying to make two cards at a time so I can have a few cards stockpiled.  Not sure how long it will last but the idea has merit so I’m going to continue trying at least whenever I make a Christmas card (you can never have too many of those!).  I have a couple of Christmas cards to share – but not today.  Today’s is baby card day – I made a girl version and a boy version with one of my Stamping Bella stamps (review still to come):

I would have flipped the sides the paper was on to make them look a little more unique but the duck in the image put me off and made me feel that the sentiment needed to go to the left to balance the card.

I used some buttons for embellishments and the rugs are paper pieced with the patterned paper turned the opposite direction. (not really by design…just worked out that way to make the most of the small piece of paper – it’s from a mat stack so there wasn’t much to spare)

I Anna-ized the cards by using my tracing wheel on the edges of everything.  It gives a much deeper impression than the cutterbee tool I used to use.

Colouring was done using SU markers and an aquapainter.  I do want to get the reinkers so I can have a more intense colour starting out but I only have 11 reinkers at the moment so it’s a major investment even factoring in that I probably wouldn’t bother with the bold brights. (I don’t have anything SU from the BB colours except for Real Red…I only use the other three colour families)

So, there you have it – one card, two looks!  Back tomorrow with a Christmas card using the same technique.

Hope you had a great long weekend!
