I’m going to let you in on two secrets tonight:

1.  I hate making baby cards

2. I made a baby card last night and another one tonight and I hate showing you the second one (which I’ll share in a minute) because it makes the other one look like crap.

I am definitely low in the baby shower card line with my card stash so I’ve been deliberately trying to work on some baby cards the last couple of days.  Today, coincidentally, a co-worker asked me to make a baby card for a shower and to make it “girly”…I think I delivered:

I’m (no pun) over the moon with the end result on this one.  I didn’t think I could pull it off but this is probably the best baby car I’ve ever made.

ETA:  I’m not quite as over the moon in the light of day…I adjusted the placement of the image so the bow would look right and have now realized that the heart hanging from the top of the moon is defying gravity!  Oh well!  I still like the card.

I used some ancient Daisy D’s paper (out of business as far as I know), an Elzybells stamp (also out of business) that I picked up during their closing out sale before Christmas, and LOTS of Doodlebug glitter.

I paper pieced the blanket on the baby and used my Copics to colour the image.  Glitter abounds on this card but I think the sparkle goes with the softness of the paper and ribbons I chose.  A Basic Grey button from my stash is the perfect soft shade to coordinate with the card.  I used a lighter pink cardstock (Pink Pirouette) to keep everything soft and pretty.

I almost don’t want to give it away!
