I seriously can’t wait to get more Whipper Snapper stamps.  I’m just waiting for the next special to defray some of the cost.  As a bonus (to me!) my friend Karen is now anxious to get some WS Rubber so we can split the shipping cost (which is waaayyyyy too expensive).

This card is, self-evidentally, for a 70th birthday celebration and was whipped up in a hurry (I’d already water-coloured this cute little guy a couple of days ago) and I used my “go-to” masculine colours – buckaroo blue, chocolate chip and old olive.  I love this combination and probably use it a little too often but I’m not that imaginative when it comes to masculine cards.

I also made use of my rectangle nesties (which have been virtually abandoned since I got my labels dies) and my circle nesties (which were a birthday gift from dh).  I love using as many of my crafting tools as possible as it validates the purchase!  Here’s the latest:

NOTE: Today’s picture was taken with my husband’s camera.  It takes a much better picture than my camera! (or maybe he takes a better picture than I do…not sure which!)

I’m not sure if you can see it really clearly in the photo but when I made this card I felt it was a little unfinished so I cut a 1/8″ strip of old olive and glued it along the bottom edge of the card.  It really made a difference and makes the card look more layered than it really is.  You’ll be seeing that trick again soon!

Supplies used: Whipper Snapper “Fisherman”, buckaroo blue, old olive, chocolate chip cardstock by SU, dye inks by SU, aquapainter, watercolouring paper, nestabilities, cuttlebug, old olive grosgrain ribbon, basic grey patterned paper, paper piercer, mat pack.
